Chrysler History

Chrysler_historyChrysler Group is an american automobile company. At the moment, it is a part of Fiat concern. General Director – Sergio Marchionne (at the same time is a general manager of Fiat).

Italians owned 52% in Chrysler, 1.6% Government of Canada (June 2011, Canada is considering an offer to sell these shares to Fiat for $ 125 million), the remaining shares are owned by the pension fund of auto workers of America.

In 1998 the company merged with the concern “Daimler-Benz”, and got the name of DaimlerChrysler.

In 2007, DaimlerChrysler sold the Chrysler division for $ 7.4 billion to Cerberus fund.

April 30, 2009 Chrysler announced the technical bankruptcy. After payment of debts, Chrysler shares were sold to Fiat concern.
