Ducati produces few motorcycles, but they are expensive and exclusive. These bikes always find its customers. The Ducati company was founded in Italy in 1926 by Ducati family (originally the company was named “Societa Radio Brevetti Ducati” and engaged in the production of parts for the radio equipment). Before the war noone even thought of the production of motorcycles.
Like many manufacturers of motorcycles, Ducati started motorcycle production immediately after the war. In order to attract customers’ attention, the company began to take an active part in the various motor-racing. And the first major victory was in 1955 by Giuliano Maoggi.
In 2007 the company won the MotoGP championship, and in 2008 Ducati won the 2nd place, behind only the legendary Valentino Rossi.
Basic models of motorcycles manufactured by the Ducati are as follows: Desmosedici RR, Streetfighter, Monster, Superbike, Multistrada, SportClassic and Hypermotard.
