The Volvo company was founded by businessman Volvo Assar Gabrielsson and engineer Gustaf Larson in 1927. In its first year, 297 models OV4 cars were sold. The first cars for sale had a conservative design and technology, which couldn’t allow the Volvo brand to export its cars outside the country. However, the low salaries in Sweden made it possible to create cheap cars and sales grew up, especially in America.

Volkswagen AG is a german auto concern, which produces cars, trucks and vans.
In 1934, Ferdinand Porsche, the famous German designer (founder of the internationally known German car manufacturer Porsche AG), was forced by the National Socialist German government to develop a modern car.
The history of the Toyota company started in 1933 when Toyoda Automatic Loom Works company, which originally was involved in textile industry, opened a car department. It was opened by the eldest son of the owner of Sakichi Toyoda, Kiichiro Toyoda, who subsequently made the Toyota car brand well known all around the world.
In 1909, the japanese company “Suzuki Loom Works” was founded by Michio Suzuki. The company started with the production of motorbikes, motorcycles etc.

SsangYong is a Korean car brand, its translation means “two dragons”. It is produced by the oldest Korean car manufacturer – SsangYong Group.
Historically, the founding date of the company is considered to be 1954, when workshop Dong-hwan was established in South Korea. Originally it was started production of commercial vehicles such as: trucks, buses and special purpose vehicles.
The history of Skoda brand started in the end of December 1895 when Vaclav Laurin and Vaclav Klement started to produce bicycles of their own design under the patriotic name Slavia. A few years later, in 1899, the company Laurin & Klement Co. started to produce motorcycles, which soon became very popular and won several awards in racing competitions. In 1905 the company started the production of cars.
Scion is a brand of japanese car manufacturer Toyota Motor Corporation, which is for sale at the American market. The brand was founded in 2003 and oriented on youth people. All Scion cars are for sale in fixed configuration.
Saab is a swedish company, which produces cars and trucks. The company was founded in April 1937, at first it produced military aircrafts. After the war Saab decided to produce cars. In 1946 a small class car Saab 92.001 was created. It had a special Saab feature – a great aerodynamic body. The first cars were equipped with a 2-cylinder engine DKW type, which was later replaced by a more powerful one.
The firm Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ltd produces premium cars under the same brand name – Rolls-Royce. The firm was opened in 1904 by businessman and engineer Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, whose names were included in the company’s name and brand.
