Pontiac_historyPontiac was founded in 1907 under the name of Oakland Motor Car Company in Pontiac, Michigan USA. It’s founder was Edward Murphy, who sold the company to General Motors in 1909. Oakland introduced the first Pontiac car in 1926, which had a nickname “Chief of the sixies”.
